Honeycomb  Pattern  Matching Tool

What’s inside:

• A set of cards, each showing a unique honeycomb  color pattern.
• A collection of hexagon pieces in different colors.
• A large base card shaped like a honeycomb  grid where children build their patterns.

The child’s task is to select a pattern card and use the colored  hexagons to recreate the design on the large honeycomb  grid.

 How to play this tool:

1. 1. Pick a Pattern Card – Place the pattern cards face up and ask the child to choose one.
2. 2. Prepare the Hexagons – Lay out the colored hexagon pieces so they are easy to see and pick.
3. 3. Recreate the Pattern – The child studies the selected card and places hexagons one by one on the large honeycomb grid, matching the colors and positions shown.
4. 4. Check and Celebrate – Once the pattern is complete, compare  it to the card together.

Celebrate success or adjust if needed.

5. 5. Next Level – Encourage the child to try a more complex pattern or create their own design on the grid.
